Workshop: Analysis to Action with SenseMaker®
This on-demand, two-day workshop shows how to work with both quantitative and qualitative data from a SenseMaker® story-collection project by:

• providing hands-on experience with SenseMaker® Analyst and the Tableau workbook;
• showing examples of advanced analytics using SPSS and R statistical packages;
• discussing how these types of analysis blend with broader sense-making approaches including story theming; and
• emphasising how the Cognitive Edge approach to complex situations can facilitate dialogue with constituency groups or within an organisation/community to co-evolve findings and safe-to-fail interventions.

Under the auspices of Cognitive Edge, Laurie Webster (QED Insight) is the instructor for this live workshop, which is available for groups of 6 or more to run at their location. More information is available here.

allspice with spoonGathering Stories 2017
• When: Begin anytime, at least 3 months to finish
• QED host: Self-directed
• Charge: $97 (USD)

Part of any SenseMaker project is collecting the stories from people. This course helps you prepare for story collection and minimize its problems. Even if you have previously run a SenseMaker project, you can learn from the 7 people interviewed. Get sage advice from them. Get stimulating input for your own capture. The variety of stakeholders, methods used, and glimpses into 9 projects is information found no other place.

You can listen to a sample interview here.

More information is available on the registration page.

The following online courses are offered jointly and concurrently by QED Insight and Cognitive Edge (CE). SenseMaker® Environment Oct 2017 – Mar 2018
• When: Begin anytime, at least 3 months to finish
• QED host: Self-directed
• Charge: $199 (USD)

This is a self-directed course that introduces you to the SenseMaker® Environment. The course materials — custom-made videos, podcasts, and readings and other documents — cover the process of working with SenseMaker®; introduce the important terms and key concepts; and illustrate typical results.

Someone who has completed this course would be well-prepared for the two-day, instructor-led SenseMaker® workshop, but would not (yet) be able to run a SenseMaker® project unassisted.

More information is available on the registration page.

SenseMaker® Signification Design
• When: October 3 through October 31, 2017
• QED Instructor: Laurie Webster
• Max class size: 15
• Min class size: 8
• Charge: $650 (USD)
Last day to enroll is Sunday, October 1, 2017

This is an instructor-led course that introduces you to SenseMaker® Signification Design. It covers:
• Understanding the big question — Why run a SenseMaker project?;
• Learning the components of a SenseMaker instrument (prompts, triads, dyads, stones, multi-choice questions); and
• Getting a SenseMaker project up and running.

The course also offers four live sessions. Each session is scheduled at two different times, if needed, to be determined at the start of the course by participants’ time-zones:
• Conversation in small groups to get acquainted and answer questions;
• Clinic #1 on topics around SenseMaker®;
• Conversation on student-created instruments (signification frameworks); and
• Clinic #2 on topics around SenseMaker®.
The Conversations will be led by Laurie Webster from QED Insight. One Clinic will be led by Michael Cheveldave and the other by Sri Ranjini Mei Hua Raman, both from Cognitive Edge.

Someone who has completed this course would be well-prepared to design a project and set it up for story collection.
